Transfusion Committee Meeting
The Transfusion Committee Meeting Was Held
We’re in this together for safe blood and a safe life.
To enhance patient safety and improve the quality of care at our institution, a Transfusion Committee meeting was held under the General Directorate, coordinated by our Director of Quality.
Blood and Blood Product Processes
At the meeting, the disposal rates related to the use of blood and blood products were analyzed, and processes aimed at ensuring transfusions are performed only for appropriate indications, in line with the principles of rational blood use, were reviewed.
Hemovigilance Processes
As part of the hemovigilance processes, monitoring and feedback mechanisms were evaluated; it was decided that any identified nonconformities would be reported to at least two responsible staff members via the Data Logger.
Corrective and Preventive Actions
Based on the evaluations conducted, the necessary corrective and preventive actions have been planned to ensure the safe and effective use of blood and blood products.
Safe transfusion processes are one of the cornerstones of patient safety.
In line with our organization’s commitment to continuous quality improvement, we regularly carry out related activities.
