Modern Treatment Methods and Surgical Approaches in Andrology
Modern andrology offers a wide range of treatment options, spanning from medical drug therapies to advanced microsurgical techniques, and from psychological support to lifestyle changes. At Egemed Hospitals, personalized treatment plans are developed for each patient, taking into account their age, overall health, and family planning goals.

Medications and Hormonal Therapies
A significant portion of andrological issues can be managed with medical (drug) treatments. Medications that regulate blood flow for erectile dysfunction, hormone replacement therapies in gel or injection form for testosterone deficiency, alpha-blockers—muscle relaxants—for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and specialized antioxidant vitamin complexes to support sperm quality are prescribed under the supervision of a specialist physician.
Microsurgery and Surgical Procedures
Surgical methods are used in cases where medical treatments are insufficient or where anatomical correction is required (e.g., varicocele, undescended testis, hydrocele). Surgeries such as "Vasovasostomy" to clear blockages in the sperm ducts, "Micro-TESE" to search for sperm in testicular tissue under a microscope in patients with no sperm in the semen (azoospermia), and "Penile Implant (Penile Prosthesis)" surgery for severe erectile dysfunction are performed under advanced operating room conditions.
Psychological Counseling and Sex Therapy
Sexual dysfunction (particularly erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, and low sexual desire, which are commonly seen in younger adults) is often caused by stress, anxiety, performance anxiety, or relationship issues. In addition to medical treatments, cognitive-behavioral therapy and couples therapy, conducted under the guidance of our psychologists, are critical to the long-term success of treatment.
