Resuscitation and Critical Care Management (Intensive Care Focused)

Resuscitation and Critical Care: The Center for Life Support

The Anesthesiology Department is not limited to operating rooms. Resuscitation (Advanced Life Support), one of the most vital disciplines in medicine, is provided in our hospital’s modern 27-bed intensive care unit. Patients requiring critical care—those experiencing failure of one or more organ systems or needing close monitoring following major surgeries—are treated in this specialized unit.

Respiratory and Circulatory Support (Mechanical Ventilation)

Patients experiencing respiratory failure, who are unable to obtain sufficient oxygen on their own, or whose breathing has ceased as a result of severe trauma are connected to our state-of-the-art mechanical ventilator systems. Our resuscitation specialists provide artificial respiratory support by continuously monitoring and making precise adjustments to the device’s settings 24 hours a day, based on the patient’s lung capacity and blood gas levels.

Multidisciplinary Critical Care Management

Patients admitted to our intensive care unit typically present with complex conditions (sepsis, severe poisoning, multiple traumas, cerebral hemorrhages). For this reason, our anesthesiologists and intensive care physicians hold daily joint rounds with the Neurology, Cardiology, Pulmonology, and General Surgery departments to implement a “holistic (multidisciplinary)” treatment approach.

Infection Control and Isolation

Infection control is of vital importance in critical care. Our unit is designed in accordance with international sterilization standards and features specialized negative- and positive-pressure isolation rooms for patients with compromised immune systems or drug-resistant infections. We maintain continuous air filtration and adhere to strict infection control protocols.
