Gender- and Age-Specific Check-Ups
Gender- and Age-Specific Check-Up Approaches
The anatomical structure, hormonal balance, and genetic risk factors of the human body vary significantly depending on gender and age. For this reason, the check-up programs at Egemed Hospitals are not based on a standard checklist; instead, they are tailored to the specific biological needs of women, men, and children.

[ Women's Health Screenings ]
Early diagnosis of diseases such as breast, uterine, and cervical cancer is of vital importance in women. Additionally, hormonal cycles, the menopause process, and bone health are key areas of focus.
- Women Under 40: In addition to routine blood tests and organ function tests, gynecological examination, Pap smear (cervical cancer screening), and breast ultrasound are the primary focus.
- Women Over 40: As the risk of breast cancer increases, mammography is included in the program. Additionally, bone density (DEXA) measurements are performed to screen for osteoporosis (bone loss) during and after menopause. Since cardiovascular risks become comparable to those of postmenopausal men, cardiac evaluations are expanded.
[ Health Screenings for Men ]
Coronary heart disease tends to occur at an earlier age in men. In older men, prostate health is one of the most important areas for screening.
- Men Under 40: Exercise capacity, ECG, fatty liver, triglyceride, and cholesterol levels are examined in detail. If there is a history of severe stress or smoking, lung imaging is included.
- Men Over 40: Heart screenings are supplemented with stress ECG and echocardiography (ECHO). In addition, a urological examination and a PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) blood test are included in the routine screening program for prostate diseases and prostate cancer.
[ Child and Adolescent (Pediatric) Check-Up ]
Routine health checkups during childhood are important for the early detection of growth and developmental delays, latent anemia, congenital heart defects, or childhood obesity. Our pediatricians plan age-appropriate (percentile-based) physical development, eye, and dental health screenings to lay the foundation for a healthy adulthood.
