Computed Tomography (CT)
Computed Tomography (CT) is an advanced radiological diagnostic method that combines X-ray technology with digital computer systems to produce images of the body’s internal structure in millimeter-thick slices. At the Radiology Department of Egemed Hospital, detailed mapping of organs, bone tissue, and blood vessels is performed even in the most complex cases, providing vital data to guide the treatment process.

Key Benefits of IT Technology
- Rapid Diagnostic Capability: The scanning process, which is completed in seconds, saves our physicians valuable time, especially in situations requiring immediate intervention.
- Low-Dose Imaging: The next-generation devices used in our hospital are programmed to deliver the lowest possible radiation dose without compromising image quality.
- Advanced Image Processing: The acquired cross-sections can be reconstructed digitally, allowing blood vessels and organs to be examined from different angles.
In What Situations Is an MRI Required?
BT is a versatile method that can be used on almost any part of the body:
| • Cardiology: The study of the coronary arteries and the structure of the heart. | • Neurology: Stroke, brain hemorrhage, and head injuries. |
| • Pulmonology: Screening for lung nodules and masses. | • Oncology: Tumor staging and monitoring response to treatment. |
| • Internal Medicine: Detailed examination of the abdominal organs and kidneys. | • Orthopedics: Diagnosis of complex fractures and soft tissue injuries. |
Information About the Process and Preparation
Before the Scan: For some tests (especially abdominal scans), you may need to fast for a certain period of time. If a contrast-enhanced scan is scheduled, a recent blood test to assess kidney function may be required.
During the Procedure: Our technician will help you lie down on the table in the correct position. It is important for the success of the procedure that you remain completely still during the imaging and hold your breath briefly when instructed to do so. The procedure is completely painless and takes only a few minutes.
After the Procedure: You can return to your daily routine immediately after the procedure is complete. If the procedure involved the use of medication, it is recommended that you drink plenty of water to help the substance be eliminated from your body quickly.
