Ultrasonography (USG)
Ultrasonography (USG) is a radiation-free, extremely safe method that uses high-frequency sound waves to provide real-time images of organs and tissues inside the body. Color Doppler Ultrasonography takes this technology a step further by allowing us to analyze the direction, speed, and potential blockages of blood flow in blood vessels in detail through color mapping.

The Benefits of Ultrasound and Doppler
- Complete Safety: Since it uses sound waves, it has no known side effects and can be administered repeatedly to patients of all ages.
- Dynamic Imaging: The real-time movements of organs and blood vessels, as well as heartbeats and blood flow, can be observed live.
- Vascular Health Assessment: Color Doppler enables the early detection of life-threatening conditions such as varicose veins, carotid artery plaques, and atherosclerosis.
- Quick and Comfortable: No downtime is required after the procedure, and the results are evaluated immediately by our specialist radiologist.
Applications
At our hospital, ultrasound and color Doppler are used for nearly every part of the body for the following purposes:
| • Women's Health: Prenatal care, examinations of the uterus and ovaries. | • Internal Medicine: Scans of the liver, gallbladder, kidneys, and pancreas. |
| • Cardiovascular: Varicose veins, suspected blood clots, carotid artery analysis. | • Endocrine: Thyroid glands, lymph nodes, and salivary glands. |
| • Breast Health: Screening and biopsy guidance. | • Pediatric Health: Hip dysplasia and abdominal ultrasound in infants. |
How Does the Filming Process Work?
Preparation: An abdominal ultrasound typically requires fasting for 6–8 hours. However, no special preparation is required for emergency scans or for thyroid, breast, or vascular (Doppler) scans.
Procedure: A water-based gel is applied to the area to be examined to facilitate the transmission of sound waves. Using a probe (the device’s transducer), our specialist will examine your organs and blood vessels in detail on the screen.
Comfort: The procedure is completely painless and takes about 15–20 minutes. Once the treatment is finished, simply wipe off the gel and you can resume your daily activities right away.
