Description: These are comprehensive serological/molecular panels that measure antibodies against the Epstein-Barr virus (VCA, EA, EBNA) at different stages of the disease—commonly known in the general public as "kissing disease" (infectious mononucleosis)—as well as the virus's genetic material directly (DNA PCR).
Purpose: This test is performed to definitively determine whether the patient has recently been exposed to the EBV virus (acute infection), has developed immunity in the past (past infection), or whether the virus has reactivated.
ENCEPHALITIS/MENINGITIS PCR PANEL
Description: This is a state-of-the-art test that uses multiplex PCR to simultaneously screen a cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) sample for the genetic DNA/RNA of numerous different viral, bacterial, and fungal pathogens that cause meningitis and encephalitis.
Purpose: In cases of life-threatening infections affecting the central nervous system, where even seconds are critical, it enables the rapid initiation of life-saving, targeted treatment by pinpointing the causative agent within hours.
Biochemistry and Hormone Tests
Estradiol
ESTRONE AND ESTRADIOL PANEL
Description: This test measures the levels in the blood of the most potent form of estrogen (estradiol/E2), which forms the foundation of the female reproductive system, and another form of estrogen (estrone/E1) that is particularly prominent after menopause.
Purpose: This test is ordered to evaluate ovarian function, monitor the menopausal process, guide infertility (including IVF) treatments, and diagnose early or delayed puberty in girls.

Extractable Nuclear Antigen Antibodies
Description: These are detailed rheumatology panels that identify subtypes of antibodies (Sm, RNP, SS-A, SS-B, Scl-70, Jo-1, etc.) formed as a result of the immune system mistakenly attacking specific protein structures in the cell nucleus.
Purpose: This test is performed in patients with a positive ANA (Antinuclear Antibody) test result to establish a definitive differential diagnosis of autoimmune rheumatic diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), Sjögren’s syndrome, scleroderma, and mixed connective tissue disease (MCTD).
